Twenty-one people were seriously injured. According to the police, they were taken to a nearby hospital.
“We are trying to find out the cause of the fire and know the exact number of deaths with the confirmation of the doctor,” Nashik police said.
Nashik’s Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse confirmed to ANI that 10 people were killed and 21 injured in the bus fire. They are being treated at a public hospital in the city. The government covers the medical costs of the injured, he said.
“Maharashtra CM Shinde also expressed his deep condolence over the unfortunate incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of those who died in this unfortunate incident. I will also go to the spot to assess the situation,” Bhuse added, as quoted by news agency ANI.
