New Delhi: 15 to 20 workers are feared trapped after a stone quarry collapsed in Mizoram’s Hnahthial district on Monday.
The incident took place around 3 pm in Maudarh area of Hnahthial district.
“15 to 20 laborers are feared trapped after a stone quarry collapsed in Hnahthial district of Mizoram. The incident took place in Maudarh area of Hnahthial district around 3 pm Hnahthial District Additional Deputy Commissioner Saizippuii said as reported by news agency ANI.
An hour later, the deputy commissioner said that five excavators, a stone crusher and a drilling machine are buried in the debris along with 10-15 workers who are still trapped.
The rescue work is still going on. So far no people or machines have been rescued, he added.
Maudarh is a small village located about 160 km from the state capital Aizawl.
