In the early hours of 11 August 2022, Indian Army guards at Parghal in Rajouri District (J&K) spotted suspicious people approaching their position. They took advantage of the chilly weather and dense foliage.
The guards challenged two terrorists who threw a grenade while trying to enter the post office. However, the alert forces cordoned off the area and engaged them in a firefight, closing them down.
In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists were neutralized. Six Indian Army soldiers were injured in the operation, out of which three brave hearts succumbed to their injuries while repelling this terrorist suicide attack.
The brave soldiers made the supreme sacrifice upholding the highest tradition of the Indian Army. The soldiers who lost their lives in the mission were.
