8 terrorists nabbed, 12 kg explosives recovered from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh


KJ Shrivatsan, Jaipur: The Rajasthan Police have busted a terrorist module in Jaipur. Several suspected terrorists have been arrested and 12 kg of explosives were recovered during the operation.

The explosives were packed in two transparent bags containing 6 kg each. Along with this, three timers, connectors, wires and bulbs have also been recovered.

Two suspected terrorists were nabbed in the town of Nimbahera in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan. According to information received from sources, the names of the arrested duo are Altamas Zubair and Saifullah.

After interrogating the terrorists, the Rajasthan ATS and Madhya Pradesh ATS have carried out several raids during which five other suspected terrorists have also been nabbed. 

Of the five suspects who have been apprehended, three are from Tonk and Chittorgarh while two have been apprehended from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh.

Teams of Madhya Pradesh ATS and Rajasthan ATS are interrogating the suspects. NIA and IB officials have also been informed. Sources said that all these people are associated with the Ratlam branch of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization.

A case has been registered against the accused under sections 4,5,6 of the Explosive Substances Act 1960 and sections 13,15,16,18,20 of UAPA.
