9 killed in Russian bombing in Ukraine’s southern city of Mykolaiv

Kyiv: At least nine people were killed on Sunday in a Russian airstrike on the Black Sea city of Mykolaiv near the strategic port of Odessa.

9 people died as a result of the bombing by “scum!!!!!! [expletive], Mykolaive,” said regional governor Vitaly Kim.

Earlier in the day, Kim said that according to preliminary information, Russian troops attacked a gas turbine factory in Mykolaiv. Local officials also announced an air strike warning in the morning.

The governor also said, “We have freedom and we are fighting for it.”

Mykolaiv has a population of approximately 500,000. The city is located about 100 kilometers on the road to Odessa and has been under attack by Russian troops for several days. Many residents of Mykolaiv have fled because of the heavy bombing of the city by Russian invaders.
