AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan remains in custody for another 5 days


New Delhi: Detained Amanatullah Khan Organization of Adami Public Party (AAP) was reported to have been consigned for five days to Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on Wednesday in the Delhi Endowment Board corruption case.

On September 17, he was sentenced to four days in prison in the same case.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau, on September 16, arrested Khan from Okla over a matter relating to financial embezzlement and wrongdoing in the work of the Endowment Board in Delhi. The FIR said that Amanatullah Khan had illegally recruited 32 people while serving as Chairman of the Delhi Endowment Board.

The AAP has been accused of involvement in corruption. The then CEO of the Endowment Board of Delhi also issued a memorandum containing a clear statement against this illegal recruitment.

According to the ACB, Khan has illegally leased several properties belonging to the Delhi Endowment Board. There is also an allegation against him of misusing the funds of the Delhi Endowment Council.
