Kalamnuri: To commemorate Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birthday, the Congress resumed its Bharat Jodo Yatra at Kalamnuri in Hingoli district of Maharashtra on Monday.

“Unity must be in spirit and in heart, a sense of togetherness and togetherness with those who attack it,” the Congress quoted India’s first prime minister as saying on his Twitter handle.

“First Prime Minister of India, Pt. Nehru was a social democrat who strove for a welfare state. He was a humanist-secularist who sought national development on all fronts, including agriculture and science. Today, on his birthday, we celebrate his lovable legacy.”

Meanwhile, the mass program of the Congress paused in Kalmnuri yesterday. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi led the march through the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana and now Maharashtra.

Enter Madhya Pradesh on November 20th

The march is scheduled to arrive in Madhya Pradesh on November 20 after finishing the march in Maratha country. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh State Assembly polls, Congress had emerged as the largest single party with senior party leader Kamal Nath as chief minister.

This ended the leadership of Congress within 15 months after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed majority in the assembly to return to power.

Prior to the 2018 election, the Saffron Party had ruled the state for three consecutive terms.
