After the electoral defeat, Sonia Gandhi called a meeting of the Parliamentary Strategy Group of Congress on Sunday.

new Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) President Sonia Gandhi has called a meeting of the Party Parliamentary Strategy Group on March 13 (Sunday) at 10.30 am at 10 Janpath.

The meeting is taking place after the defeat of the Congress in the recently concluded assembly elections in five states.

Later on Sunday, the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the top decision-making body of the Congress, will meet to discuss the party’s performance in the elections and the current political situation.

The meeting will be held at 4 pm at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) office. Sources said on Friday that Congress G-23 leaders, who are members of the Congress Working Committee, are ready to raise the demand for reforms in the party during the CWC meeting.

On Friday, the Congress G-23 meeting was held at the residence of senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad in the national capital.

Congress leaders Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Manish Tewari, Kapil Sibal and Anand Sharma, Akhilesh Prasad Singh were present in the meeting.

The results of the five assembly elections came as a setback for the Congress, which is hoping to revive its prospects for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and do well to replace the emerging challenge from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Trinamool Congress. Was being as the basis of anti-BJP politics in the country.

In Uttar Pradesh Congress won 2 out of 403 seats, in Uttarakhand the party got 19 out of 70 seats.

Congress won 11 out of 40 seats in Goa, party won only 5 out of 60 seats in Manipur Legislative Assembly and Congress won 18 out of 117 seats in Punjab.
