Air facilities will be expanded in Rewa: Shivraj Singh Chouhan


Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday informed that the Centre has given a nod to a budget relating to the expansion of the air facilities in Rewa to attract investors in the state. 

The Chief Minister said, “Air facilities will be expanded in Rewa. The Central Government has approved the budget for expansion of airport in Rewa. We will make an airport here after completing all the formalities so that investors can come here and work to enrich this land.” 

The Chief Minister was addressing a programme on the ocassion of Employment Day across the state.  

He said, “Employment Day is being celebrated across the state today. On 2nd Jan, 5.26 lakh people got employment, on 16 Feb, 5.04 lakh people got employment. Today again more than 3.33 lakh people are being given loans for self-employment. 

Meanwhile, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister of State for Civil Aviation General (Retd) V.K. Singh on Tuesday inaugurated a direct flight between Bhopal and Chennai being operated by Indigo. 

He said, “It is a fortunate day for me that heart of India (Bhopal) is being connected to the centre of development, business, progress as well as religious emotions (Chennai).” 

“From July 2021, Bhopal which was previously connected with 5 cities, is now connected 10 cities – Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Prayagraj, Agra, Ahmedabad, Raipur and Chennai. There is also an increase in weekly flights from Bhopal from 94 to 216 flights, an increase of 150%,” added Union Minister.
