Earlier, the Wrestlers’ protest came to a screeching halt late on Wednesday night when cops allegedly “misbehaved” with athletes protesting against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
“All medals won internationally and awarded by the government will be returned. At what level will we tolerate humiliation? They humiliate us, drag us to the ground,” said Vinesh Phogat.
Talking to mediaperson Bajrang Punia, he said, “They did not respect that we are Padam Shri awardees and treated us like this. They were drunk and misbehaved with us.”
