In a press release, the company said several SKUs of the 16-inch Apollo Endurace RA and LD have received a 5-star rating from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), with some also receiving a 4-star rating.
Satish Sharma, President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), Apollo Tyres, said: “The BEE label program provides customers with information on fuel/energy savings and helps them make an informed purchasing decision.”
“Saving fuel/energy, which is the highest cost for this consumer category, optimizes the total cost of their operation. We are leaders in the commercial vehicle category, particularly in radial light trucks, and this star rating would help us continue to dominate the segment.”
The Apollo EnduRace RA and Apollo EnduRace LD radial tube series are designed for steer axle or 4WD and drive axle mounting. These variants offer 4×2 trucks with payloads up to 9 tons to meet all regional transportation needs of domestic customers for short and long haul applications across the country.
In addition to trucks, these tires are also used for school buses and coaches in passenger transport. The company also sells these tires to Mahindra, VECV, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors and VE.
According to the manufacturer, the EnduRace RA steer/4WD profile features a sinusoidal groove and knurling that provides better stability and control for vehicle handling and minimal rolling resistance. While the optimized contact pressure dampens noise, the strain-relieving slats promote permanent wear.
With its tough, durable blocks, the EnduRace LD pattern provides drive axle traction in tough situations with smooth wear, reduced heat and improved cut and chip resistance. The carcass of these tires is made from tension-optimized cords to ensure less stress and maximum durability for long service life.
