Mumbai: The word “Entertainment” is constantly evolving in its being. If we trace its history in India, we could find its beginning somewhere in puppet shows and theater shows.

Theaters paved the way for the cinema that audiences enjoy today. Television also came along and the rush to movie theaters slowed down a bit. Then came the era of OTT and social media that redefined the meaning of entertainment.

Speaking on the same, Mubin Tiska, founder of The Entertainment Factory (an India-based event and branding company) said, “Now, audiences have started looking for content and artists have focused on in content. They have started delivering it through social media, events and OTT. As the world of content grows, the audience’s attention span shrinks. They look forward to short-form content. So , standups become their entertainment of choice.”

He also spoke about the growth and popularity of new generation artists. According to him, “In the last four years, artists such as comedians, musicians and online content creators have grown significantly in both numbers and influence. Not only are they making millions on OTT platforms, but they are making a fortune from events and tours LIVE. This also comes from the demand for new forms of entertainment. It’s not wrong to say that the future of entertainment is here.”

When asked about The Entertainment Factory, Mr. Tisekar said, “We produce one of the largest format events in India, cultivate intellectual properties and build brands for live entertainment and special entertainment events. We are one of the fastest growing entertainment companies of India”.

He further added, “Celebrity comedians like Anubhav Singh Bassi, Abhishek Upmanyu, Harsh Gujral, Biswa Kalyan Rath etc. are doing standups at our events. Currently we also have the license to organize TEDxKCMarg. We have announced our presence in the nation through events like the Comedy Festival, Johnny Lever, Anubhav Singh Bassi, Harsh Gujral and Sunil Grover’s India tours.”

For the record, comedians and entertainers not only entertain people, but make millions in their own right. They are performing in various events not only within the borders of India but also beyond. Names like Anubhav Singh Bassi, Harsh Gujral and Abhishek Upmanyu have become household names these days.
