During his visit, the Army Chief reviewed Exercise Dakshin Shakti, conducted by the Southern Command of the Indian Army with the aim of ensuring integrated application of forces in multi-sectoral operations and maintaining the country’s military objectives across the entire spectrum of conflict. was conducted, read a statement by the Ministry of Defence.

“During the past one week, units and formations of the Indian Army practiced tactical and operational maneuvers in a fluid battlefield environment by their infantry, mechanized formations and airborne troops, piloting futuristic technologies. A spectacular display of the same including Special Heliborne Operations, Swarm Drone and ALH maneuvers and coordinated action by ground troops was also practiced.

General Naravane commended the Southern Command for fielding and harnessing the capabilities of indigenous equipment inducted as part of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. He also stressed on the need to continuously develop strategies, techniques and procedures to fight the ‘wars of the future’ as well as capacity building in manned and unmanned systems.

Also, he congratulated all the participants for the high readiness and operational preparedness and called upon them to continue their surveillance for the security of the nation.
