Thiruvananthapuram: India won the toss against South Africa in the first T20I and decided to bowl first and the team is benefiting immensely from this decision.

India’s bowler Arshdeep Singh thrashed the visiting team by taking 3 wickets in just one over. Singh’s form will be a relief for the Indian side as they look to win the first T20I early.

David Miller, Bavuma and Rosov, Stubbs returned to the pavilion without opening an account. De Kock scored 1 run. By the fifth over, South Africa scored 26 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.

After the toss, Rohit Sharma announced the squad and it will surely make the fans a little less happy as Jasprit Bumrah is out once again.

“We are going to bowl first. Last time we played here it was a good wicket. A little green cover but it will be a good batting track. It is very important to continue doing what you are doing and to maintain that momentum in this format. There is a very healthy atmosphere in the group and we also want to make sure that all the boxes are ticked and so far we are doing well and we just want to continue with that,” said Rohit.
