Assault rifles, pistols recovered from Punjab’s Ferozepur


Chandigarh: Five assault rifles and as many pistols were recovered by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab’s Ferozepur district, officials said.

Acting on a specific information, BSF troops conducted a search in Gandu Kilcha village and spotted suspicious objects in a field, news agency PTI said.

During the search, BSF personnel found three large packages in two green colored plastic bags containing five assault rifles with five magazines and five pistols with 10 magazines.

On November 29, BSF and Punjab Police recovered five assault rifles and five pistols near Border Outpost (BOP) Dona Telu Mal in Ferozepur, the report added.

5 kg of heroin found in Tarn Taran

The Punjab Police in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) found a drone with more than 5 kg of heroin in a field near the India-Pakistan border in the state’s Tarn Taran district.

The Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab, in a tweet on Friday said, “@TarnTaranPolice in a joint search operation with @BSF_India recovered a Hexacopter drone equipped with modern technology and packages containing 5 kg of #heroin from a location near Indo from fields. -At the border of Pak.
