New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Avesh Khan and Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis took 3 and 2 wickets each as the KL Rahul-led side beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 10 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on April 19- me on wednesday .

Buttler-Jaiswal’s 87-run stand

Chasing a modest target of 155, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal maintained a cautious approach but put Rajasthan in a strong position with an 87-run stand for the opening wicket.

Stoinis makes the first breakthrough

Marcus Stoinis then removed Yashasvi for 44(35) before Rajasthan’s batting collapsed, swinging the momentum in Lucknow’s favour. It was such that the equation fell to 19 in the final. Avesh Khan then had a brilliant finish as he struck twice and conceded 8 runs to restrict Rajasthan to 144/6 in 20 overs.

First inning highlight

Earlier, Kyle Mayers scored another half century as KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran played crucial knocks to take LSG to 154/7 on a tricky pitch.

Ravichandran Ashwin was among the RR bowlers with two wickets. RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to field.
