Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], Oct 18 (ANI): Former Union Minister Babul Supriyo, who resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC), met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday (October 19) to join the BJP. will submit his resignation as MP.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], October 18 (ANI): Former Union Minister Babul Supriyo, who resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC), met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday (October 19) to join the BJP. will submit his resignation as MP.
Earlier on October 1, Supriyo had shared a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla seeking an appointment with him for an urgent matter.
It was alleged that Supriyo never called the Lok Sabha Speaker’s office after announcing his intention to resign from the membership of the lower house, with the TMC leader saying that he sent a letter on September 20 for the appointment of Om Birla and They were accepted ‘received’.
The letter dated September 20 cited only one urgent matter as the reason for the appointment and did not elaborate further on the above matter.
Supriyo had resigned as Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change in August. In a Facebook post, he said there was a difference of opinion between him and the leaders of the West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and that differences between senior leaders were “harming the party”.
Later, the former BJP leader, who had announced that he was quitting politics and would also resign as an MP, joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and claimed that he was looking for a great opportunity to serve Bengal. Coming back for (ANI)
