BAFTA Awards: President Prince William will not attend this year’s ceremony

Los Angeles: BAFTA President, Duke of Cambridge Prince William will not attend this year’s BAFTA Awards for the second time on 13 March.

According to Variety, despite the award ceremony being held at the Royal Albert Hall, which is close to his Kensington Palace home, William will skip the ceremony. Instead, he will deliver the speech through a pre-recorded video broadcast. A BAFTA spokesperson told Variety: “We are delighted that the President of BAFTA, the Duke of Cambridge, will be attending the EE BAFTA Film Awards via a pre-recorded video message. Due to constraints, he will not be present in person this year. are able to be.”

Last year too, Prince William was set to deliver a pre-recorded speech via video link but withdrew following the death of his grandfather, Prince Philip, who died a day before the ceremony.

According to Variety, this year’s ceremony will feature Daisy Ridley, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Millie Bobby Brown, Patrick Stewart, Reggae Jean-Page, RuPaul, Salma Hayek, Sebastian Stan, Sienna Miller, Simon Pegg. Simone Ashley, Sophie Okonedo, Sophie Turner, Tom Hiddleston and Wunmi Mosaku among others.
