New Delhi: Former Indian footballer Bhaichung Bhutia has submitted his nomination for the post of president of the All India Football Federation.
“I submitted my nomination as a representative of the famous players. Following SC’s decision to clear the players, I hope the players will get a chance to serve Indian football. We want to show that we can be good not only as players but also as administrators,” Bhutia said after submitting the nominations.

When are the elections?
The AIFF election will be held on August 28 in New Delhi.
Bhutia is the most celebrated Indian footballer who is also known as the ‘Sikkimese Sniper’. His goalscoring abilities made him one of the great footballers. The 45-year-old retired from his football career after the 2011 Asian Cup in Qatar.
