The Union Home Minister said that the BJP’s return to power in Manipur is proof that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special place in the hearts of the people of the Northeast.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s resolve for a prosperous North-East has earned him a special place in the hearts of the people of our Northeast region, this victory is a testament to that. To CM N Biren Singh ji Congratulations, Adhikarimayum Sharada Devi ji and our workers,” Shah said.
Amit Shah on Goa said, “Grateful to the people of Goa for reposing faith in the BJP. Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the BJP will leave no stone unturned to fulfill the aspirations of the sisters and brothers of Goa. Congratulations Pramod Sawant, Sadanand Shet Tanawade and our workers.”
Counting of votes was underway in five states- Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.
The BJP is set to return to power with a comfortable majority for an unprecedented second term in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is poised for a historic victory in Punjab, according to election results and trends on Thursday.
In the other two states of Manipur and Goa, where polling was also held in February-March, the BJP has emerged as the single largest party and is on track to form the government. (ANI)
