BYD Atto 3 electric SUV for India: know the features


New Delhi: Chinese automaker BYD (Build Your Dreams) will launch its electric SUV Atto 3 in India on October 11, making it the automaker’s second model here. Launched last year, the e6 MPV was BYD’s first product for India and was recently made available to private buyers.

The Atto 3 is a five-seater electric SUV with a length of almost 4.5 meters – similar to the Hyundai Alcazar – and will be positioned in the EV-SUV segment at a price of 25-35 rupees. In the run-up to the market launch of the Atto 3, technical details and the equipment list for the electric SUV have appeared on the Internet.

1. BYD Atto 3: Dimensions details

In terms of dimensions, the BYD Atto 3 measures 4,455mm in length, 1,875mm in width and 1,615mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,720mm. Thanks to these dimensions, it is significantly larger than its main competitors – the MG ZS EV (4,323 mm) and the Hyundai Kona (4,180 mm). With a weight of 1,750 kg, the Atto 3 offers a trunk volume of 440 liters and a ground clearance of 175 mm.

2. BYD Atto 3: drive and performance

The BYD Atto 3 is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that produces 201 hp and 310 Nm of peak torque. The electric motor only drives the front wheels and also features regenerative braking technology. BYD specifies a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds for the Atto 3.

3. BYD Atto 3: battery and range

The Atto 3 is expected to be offered with two batteries in India. There is a battery with a capacity of 49.92 kWh, which provides a range of 345 km with WLTP certification. BYD is also likely to offer an extended-range version that uses a larger 60.48 kWh battery and offers a WLTP-certified range of 420 km per charge. The Atto 3 is compatible with DC fast charging up to 80 kW.

Destined for India, the Atto 3 will be lavishly equipped with features such as full LED lighting, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, heated rearview mirrors, power front seats, wireless phone chargers, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, 12.8-inch pivoting touchscreen. and a 5-inch digital instrument cluster.
