Capt Amarinder Singh’s wife skips Punjab Congress MPs crucial meet with Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress MP and former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s wife Preneet Kaur missed an important meeting called by Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath here.

The meeting was held on Thursday, ANI reported. Congress MP Preneet Kaur remained absent in the meeting, where all MPs from Punjab were present.

Partap Singh Bajwa, Amar Singh, Manish Tiwari, Santokh Chaudhary, Gurjit Singh Aujla and Ravneet Singh Bittu are present in the meeting held at Sonia Gandhi’s residence. Sources said the meeting lasted for about an hour.

The party had last month issued a notice to the Patiala MP seeking an explanation for her alleged “anti-party activities” and openly announced support for her husband Amarinder Singh, who had quit the Congress party.

While the Punjab Assembly elections are just a few months away, Kaur has decided to skip all important meetings with the party high command in the national capital. Congress has geared up for the assembly elections to be held in Punjab.
