“Following the death sentence awarded to Nimisha Priya, the Government of India is making every effort to bring her back safely. The appellate court had upheld the lower court’s decision. We have now decided that we will appeal against it to the Supreme Court. The appellate court’s decision,” Muraleedharan said.
Meanwhile, Nimisha’s family and members of “Nimisha Priya Bachao – International Action Council” met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan to seek their support to save her.
A nurse from Kerala, Nimisha, is accused of murdering Yemeni national Talal Abdo Mahdi, who died in July 2017, after he allegedly injected her with a sedative to get her passport from her. Nimisha had accused Mahdi of abusing and harassing her. (ANI)
