Central government employees can get HRA hike


New Delhi: The state distributes benefits to its employees. A week after central government employees got a 4 percent hike in their Dearness Allowance, media reports claimed that the employees might get a hike in HRA soon.

According to the latest reports, the central government is planning to increase the HRA of the personnel in the near future. If the Center increases the house rent (HRA) of government employees, their salaries are also likely to go up. The revision of the HRA is expected in the near future.

Dussehera Bonanza: 4% DA trek

On 28 September 2022, the union government approved a proposal to increase the DA for government employees and pensioners by 4 percent.

This is the second increase in the daily allowance for state government employees this year.

In March 2022, the government announced a 3 percent increase in DA. The increase entered into force on January 1, 2022. Government employees, government pensioners and family pensioners receiving pension from the government will benefit from the increase in DA.

Before the 4 percent increase approved by the union government on Wednesday, the effective DA for government employees and pensioners was 34 percent. Now it has been increased to 38 percent.

The HRA was last raised in July 2021

Government employees must note that HRA was last increased in July 2021 and at that time DA was also increased to 28%.
