Usha Uthup hails from Chennai but was born on November 8, 1947 in Mumbai. Usha Uthup sang an English song for Bombay Talkies in 1970 with Shankar- ‘Jaikishan’ and ‘Hare Ram Hare Krishna’. After these songs, he became an overnight star and never looked back. He sang many songs for Bappi Lahiri and RD Burman in the 1970s and 1980s.
