Chhattisgarh: 5 killed, 17 injured after tractor-trolley rams into truck; Chief Minister announced ex-gratia amount

Gariaband (Chhattisgarh): At least five people were killed and 17 others injured when a tractor-trolley and truck collided in Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband district on Tuesday evening.

According to news agency PTI, the accident took place near Joba, about eight kilometers from Gariaband, when the victims – all related to Mazarakatta – were returning after attending a family function in a nearby village.

Gariaband Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Vishwadeep Yadav said, “The tractor-trolley collided with a truck and then overturned, killing five people and injuring 17, out of which 14 were taken to Raipur for further treatment. has been sent.”

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of those killed in the accident. According to Chhattisgarh CMO, Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured.
