CM Bhagwant Mann on Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev


Chandigarh: On the auspicious occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji Prakash Parv, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann bowed before Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib on Tuesday and announced that the Anand Marriage Act would be implemented as usual.

According to the Prime Minister, this law was notified in 2016, but has been pending ever since. He claimed that even though many other states had already implemented this law, Punjab was lagging behind. According to Bhagwant Mann, this law is now properly implemented.

The Chief Minister bowed before Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and prayed that communal harmony, peace and brotherhood would strengthen day by day in the state and Punjab would lead the country in all fields.

Addressing the Sangat on the auspicious occasion of Prakash Parv, he stated that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was a great spiritual leader who showed humanity the path to salvation through devotion to God.

According to Bhagwant Mann, Guruji’s eternal teachings of ‘Kirat Karo, Naam Japo and Vand Chhako’ are still relevant in today’s materialistic society.

The Chief Minister stated that Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji envisioned a casteless society for the liberation of suffering humanity.

Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, he said, inspired humanity with new ideas, ideals and curiosities and asked us to free ourselves from the evils of hypocrisy, falsehood, deception and caste.

CM Bhagwant Mann exhorted the people to adopt the spirit of service and humility of the great Guru and follow the priceless legacy of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to create a peaceful, happy and healthy society.

The Chief Minister appealed to all, irrespective of caste, colour, creed and religion, to celebrate this holy occasion with full dedication and devotion.

He stated that Guru Nanak Dev ji, known throughout the world as Jagat Guru due to his sadness, preached communal harmony and strengthened the roots of brotherhood.

According to Bhagwant Mann, Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji vehemently opposed oppression, injustice and tyranny during the invasion of Mughal Emperor Babur through his teachings.

The Chief Minister said that Guru Ji compared air to Guru, water to father and earth to mother in the Gurbani rhyme ‘Pavanu Guru Pani Pita, Mata Dharti Mahatu’.

According to CM Mann, Guru ji’s visionary thinking can be traced back to the fact that he preached to people to take care of their environment at a time when there was no air pollution anywhere.

He stated that Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was a strong supporter of women’s empowerment and equal status in society.
