Comedian Raju Srivastava admitted to the hospital, suffers a heart attack


New Delhi: Comedian Raju Srivastava was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday. He was immediately taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital in New Delhi.

However, as reported by his team, Raju he is now better and has confirmed his condition. His team told News18 Showsha that the comedian suffered a stroke while training. His team said: “He was exercising on the treadmill around 11-11:30 when he had the stroke. He is now stable. There is nothing to worry about now. The doctors are running tests , we will share more information soon.”

According to reports, Raju Srivastava was in the capital to meet his friends and family. He’s been in town for a week now.

Raju Srivastava started his career with cameos in Bollywood films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, Bombay to Goa, Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya among others.

He was then seen on the talent show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and finished as the runner-up. Participating in the spin-off, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge – Champions, he won the title of ‘The King of Comedy’.

Srivastav also participated in reality TV shows like Bigg Boss season 3, comedy show Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala, Nach Baliye season 6 and Comedy Nights with Kapil.

Meanwhile, talking to The Indian Express, the comedian once revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoys his mimicry. “He told me, ‘If you want, you have to imitate me, just make sure that people are entertained’. He believes that mimicry is an art. In fact, Modi ji said that there should be no discrimination, that the powerful are not mocked and only the rest of the sections are the subject of humour,” he said.
