“We will cancel the Agnipath scheme when our government is formed in the center. What we promise, we deliver. In Chhattisgarh, we promised to forgive farmers and it was implemented,” said Vadra.
Priyanka Gandhi said that “Agnipath” is clearly an insult to the martyrs of Himachal. “The army will now operate under contract,” she added.
“I understand the spirit of the people of Himachal who belong to Vir Bhumi because I lost my father to terrorism,” the Congress leader added.
The Congress leader who was holding a number of rallies in the hill state recently claimed that Congress stands up to its commitments citing Chhattisgarh Loan Forgiveness Scheme.
Priyanka Gandhi also said the Congress has restored the old pension system in Chhattisgarh as well as in Rajasthan and will do the same in Himachal. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra claimed that “the BJP has the money to give away the loans of his wealthy friends but does not give pensions to the employees”.
Gandhi was speaking at a rally at the Nagrota Bhagwan assembly circle in Kangra district today.
Voting on November 12th
Voting in the state will take place on November 12 and results will be recorded on December 8.
The elections will be held in a total of 68 constituencies. The Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are in strong competition in the hill state.
