Congress will soon start ‘Bharat Jodi Yatra’

New Delhi: With an aim to expose the failure of policies by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress is all set to begin its “Bharat Jodi Yatra”. Under this campaign, former party president Rahul Gandhi will go on a ‘padayatra’ (walking journey).

Gandhi will start his journey from Kanyakumari and end at Jammu. Congress leaders will visit many cities including Mysore, Nanded, Indore, Alwar Pathankot.

The ‘padayatra’ was earlier scheduled to take place in October, but two senior leaders of the old party – MP Jairam Ramesh and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot – hinted at an early march.

Both also mentioned that the decision was taken in the wake of “repeated and intense attacks on our democracy, our country’s Constitution by the Modi government and the BJP”.

A huge delegation of Congress leaders including national and state level members of Congress will accompany Rahul Gandhi in his visit. Gandhi intends to cover 3,700 in 148 days.
