Controversy! NCW asks Bihar to explain ‘condom’ statements

New Delhi: The National Women’s Committee on Thursday condemned IAS Harjot Kaur Bamhrah for her remarks about “condoms” for a girl who demanded free sanitary pads from the government.

Taking to Twitter, the committee informed that it sought a response from Kaur within a week. The post said, “The National Council of Women of India has taken note of the disgraceful statements. President Rekha Sharma She wrote to Ms Hargot Kaur Bamra, IAS seeking a written explanation for her inappropriate statement.

As previously reported, during an event called ‘Sashakt Beti, Samriddh Bihar’, the General Manager of Bihar Women’s Development Corporation (WDC) criticized a girl when she asked why the government could not provide 20-30 rupees worth of sanitary pads for free.

Is there a limit to this requirement? You can also give a pair of jeans tomorrow. The day after tomorrow can also give beautiful shoes. Ultimately, condoms should also be provided free of charge,” said MD Harjot Kaur Bamhrah, IAS.

In her response, Kaur asked the girl why she could not buy the pads herself because she wanted the government to distribute the things for free.

With the controversy raging between the two, the girl indicated that there are many such policies for the government and it is her right to put forward her demands.
