According to WHO, submissions made by WHO for prequalification or listing under the emergency use procedure are confidential. If a product submitted for evaluation is found to meet the listing criteria, WHO will publish the results widely. The WHO said the organization is reviewing the data provided by Bharat Biotech on 6 July.
According to the agency, the duration of the emergency use list process depends on the quality of the data submitted by the coronavirus vaccine manufacturer and whether the data meets WHO criteria. Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and AstraZeneca and Oxford University’s Covishield are the two widely used COVID-19 vaccines in India.

Bharat Biotech recently said that the company has handed over all the data related to covaxin Awaiting a decision on this from the EUL to the WHO and from the global health watchdog. The company said that all data for emergency use covaxin was made available to WHO in July.
