COVID-19 hampers FIH Pro League: India-Germany games postponed

Bhubaneswar: The increase in the number of COVID-19 cases has led to the postponement of the FIH Hockey Pro League matches between India and Germany (Men).

A large number of COVID-19 cases affecting the German team has thus led to the matches to be played on March 12, 13 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha being postponed to a later date.

“FIH, Hockey India and Hockey Germany are already working closely to find alternate dates,” an official release said.

The women’s match between India and Germany will be played as planned at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar later this week.

The German women’s hockey team arrived in Odisha on Tuesday and leader Lisa Nolte said, “In a statement issued on Tuesday, the FIH said the Games, scheduled for March 12 and 13, would be held on an alternate date.”
