Surat (Gujarat) [India], 20 October (ANI): Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the gems and jewelery industry in Gujarat’s Surat has witnessed a surge in exports.

Surat (Gujarat) [India], 20 October (ANI): Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the gems and jewelery industry in Gujarat’s Surat has witnessed a surge in exports.
According to Dinesh Navadia, President, Gem and Jewelery Export Promotion Council in Gujarat, during April-August in 2019-20, exports stood at USD 14.76 billion which has now been increased to USD 15.85 billion 2020-21 for the same period. .
“We are getting high demand from US and Hong Kong. During April-August in 2019-20, exports were $14.76 billion which has now increased to $15.85 billion for the same period,” Navadia told ANI.
“There has been an increase of 7.41 per cent in the export of gems and jewellery,” he said. (ANI)
