DDMA issues order to cancel singer AP Dhillon’s concert in Delhi

New Delhi: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has ordered cancellation of Punjabi singer AP Dhillon’s concert scheduled to be held in the National Capital’s Aerocity area today.

The orders have been issued by the Duty SDM on Saturday, who has directed the cancellation of the concert due to the violation of COVID-19 norms. The music show was going to be part of a restaurant launch at Aerocity’s Andaz Hotel, where 400-500 guests were expected to gather for the evening. If a violation is found, the organizers of the event will be booked under sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, sections 188 of the IPC and other applicable laws.

Earlier, on December 13, an FIR was lodged against the organizers of Dhillon’s concert in Mumbai for allegedly violating the COVID-19 norms.

The concert was held on Sunday at The Black Box in the Grand Hyatt. Several celebrities including Sara Ali Khan, her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor attended the crowded gig.
