Delhi government to offer gratuity of Rs 10 lakh each to kin of Farash Khana building collapse victims


New Delhi: Food and Supplies Minister and Ballimaran MLA Shri Imran Hussain visited LNJP Hospital to meet the victims who were injured in an unfortunate incident where a two-storey building collapsed in Farash Khana area causing the loss of three lives and nine people injured. The minister met the injured and informed them about their medical condition.

The hospital authorities were further asked to provide quality medical services to the injured people. The minister instructed special attention and adequate support to the victims in the time of suffering.

The minister also acknowledged the role of NDRF, DDMA, Delhi Police, BSES and fire personnel as the relief and rescue operations faced difficulties considering the dense population of the area.

Shri Imran Hussain further directed the officers of revenue department/SDM of the affected area to arrange sufficient accommodation and food for the affected residents.

On behalf of the Government of Delhi, Shri Imran Hussain also announced a gratuity of Rs 10 lakhs each for the next of kin of the deceased, Rs 5 lakhs for the dead minor victim and in addition Rs 2 Lakhs for the grievously injured and Rs 20 thousand for injured persons as per government policy.

The F&S minister also met the family members of the dead girl and assured them of all possible help from the government. Shri Imran Hussain said that the government of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal always stands by the people in times of crisis and distress.

He further added that though the gratuity amount cannot compensate the loss caused to the families, he hoped that with this small financial assistance from the Delhi government, the family members will get some support to build their homes. lives
