Delhi Police seal popular restaurant in Mehrauli for flouting COVID19 rules


New Delhi: According to reports, in the first major action against the violation of the COVID rules issued by the Delhi government, the Delhi Police sealed a popular restaurant in Mehrauli.

A flying squad conducts a surprise inspection at Diablo restaurant in Mehrauli area as part of a drive to enforce the latest DDMA orders against hosting and organizing large public gatherings.

According to the reports, at the time of inspection, around 10:45 pm on Thursday night, around 600 people were found in the restaurant.

District Magistrate Sonalika Jiwani said, “The crowd was immediately dispersed by the Tehsildar (Mehrauli) and the premises were sealed for gross violation of DDMA guidelines, especially in view of the emerging Omicron version of Covid.”

Delhi Police said that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of IPC at Mehrauli police station in Delhi.
