jammu: Eight people, including four women, were killed in a road accident in the Marwah area of ​​Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night.

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar confirmed the accident and said eight people died after their car fell into a deep ravine in the Marwah area of ​​Kishtwar around 5:30pm.

Police said a passenger taxi (Tata Sumo) had an accident on the way from Alyasar to Tatapani in Marwah Belt, UNI news agency reported.

“I am shocked and saddened to hear about the traffic accident,” said Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Chief Minister of J&K, expressing his condolences to the bereaved.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh tweeted, saying: “I just spoke to Dr. Spoken to Devansh Yadav from DC Kishtwar after I received the news of an unfortunate Tata Sumo traffic accident in the Marwah area. 8 people died on the spot, rescue operations are underway to recover more people.
