Elon Musk says all employees will soon receive additional childcare allowances


Elon Musk remains in the spotlight. Sure, he’s revered for his contribution to the tech world, but his popularity goes beyond that. And for different reasons. The latest: his found paternity of two children of one of his company’s employees and the killing of the Twitter agreement. Although it’s hard to say which one got people talking the most. But Musk himself addressed the news of his new fatherhood and it led to a myriad of opinions on things, including the treatment of employees. To sort of quell them, Musk has now announced increased childcare benefits for employees at all of his companies. In response to one of his followers, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted, “Kids are worth it if possible. I plan to significantly increase childcare allowances in my companies. He added that details on enhanced childcare benefits are expected to arrive next month. By “my companies,” Musk meant Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink and Boring Company. The increased employee benefits stem from Musk’s belief that the birth rate is plummeting globally and people should have more children. And Musk looks like someone who practices what he preaches. According to an insider report, Musk had children with one of his top Neuralink employees, Shivon Zilis, last year in November. Musk even gave a tongue-in-cheek response to confirm this news. “I mean I’m doing my part haha,” Musk tweeted. Zilis gave birth to twins, adding to Musk’s thriving line of children – a total of nine known children. Musk has five children from his first wife, Justine Wilson, and two children from Grimes. Musk’s tweet about new child care benefits lacks detail. It is unclear how the Musk Foundation will support parents working in different companies. However, Tesla recently extended travel support to employees who wanted abortions in states where it is still legal. But employees at Tesla and other companies have complained of mistreatment by Musk. One of the issues faced by employees is the work-from-desk policy. Musk recently asked employees to return to the office or find new jobs.
