Farmers demand compensation for land, to….

Greater Noida: For the past 17 days, farmers have been protesting outside the Greater Noida Development Authority. On Thursday, the farmers reiterated that they will not move from here until their demands are met. Kisan Sabha spokesperson Dr Rupesh Verma said that on May 15, a large number of farmers from the area along with their families will be ready before the Greater Noida Authority.

Rupesh Verma said, “We should get 10 percent developed residential plots in equal proportion. The 17.5% quota must be restored for farmers in the official housing program. The employment of regional youth must be ensured in the industries to be set up in the authority area.”

Farmer Surendra Sunpura says that the authority directly buys our valuable land at a very cheap price through the registry. However, more than 8 years have passed since the new land purchase took place in the country. If the authority demands our land, then compensation equal to four times the market price according to the law must be given.

Subedar Brahmapal, senior vice-president of the Kisan Sabha, said the authority does not develop residential plots allotted to farmers. There are no facilities and we are under pressure to build. The penalty is imposed only on the basis of an allotment letter. This is unfair to the farmers. Fines imposed on farmers’ plots must be canceled immediately.
