New Delhi: The Khap Mahapanchayat on Sunday gave an ultimatum to the central government to take action against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over allegations of sexual harassment by top Indian wrestlers.

The farmers’ leaders held a meeting for 4 hours and announced that they would wait till May 20 for the Center to take action against the WFI leader. The Khap Panchayat will hold another meeting on May 21 to discuss the future course if the Center does not act on the matter.

On Sunday, farmers from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan reached Jantar Mantar in the capital to show support to the protesting fighters.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) has announced that it will organize protests across the country in favor of the wrestlers, including in Delhi. Following SKM’s statement, security was strengthened at the protest site.
