Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who is currently riding on the success of ‘Sooryavanshi’ and his latest film ‘Atrangi Re’, said the filmmaking process for him is “too sacrosanct to be sabotaged.”

While ‘Sooryavanshi’ was released in theaters in India, ‘Atrangi Re’ is going straight to Disney Plus Hotstar.

When asked how he tackles his work on different platforms, ‘Khiladi’ Kumar told Variety, “We make films to show, no matter what platform they are released on, but for me the film The manufacturing process is so sacrosanct it can’t be tampered with, so there really isn’t much adaptation depending on the platform in which it will feature. Movies are my craft and I don’t compromise with my craft under any circumstances. I won’t.”

He further added, “Initially I was a little apprehensive about the form of films, which as long as I can remember has always been a big screen schedule. But once the pandemic started, the idea of not showing my work at all It was scary. So in a way I was grateful. And I also felt, if anything, you might have an opportunity to appeal to a wider, perhaps different audience. So releasing on both platforms, which also works around this, only helping to broaden your work profile and audience engagement.”

Akshay said that he and the entire team of ‘Sooryavanshi’ are extremely excited for the global reception the film has received.

“Its success was a testament to the fact that fans have kept the film in their hearts and minds since the time of its announcement. It is heartening to see the enthusiasm of cinema-lovers not only in India but internationally.. . I am a great believer in timing and what incredible things can happen when you are in the right place at the right time. The postponement of the film resulted in some pressure, I think it was worth it as it eventually released Has proved to be a shining light in an otherwise dark moment in our history,” he said.
