Mumbai: A fire on Saturday afternoon destroyed at least 10 businesses at Fashion Street, a roadside clothing market in south Mumbai, but no one was injured, a civic official said.
Around 1pm, the fire started in one of the businesses on Fashion Street near Churchgate and quickly spread to some of its neighboring shops, he added.
Six fire tenders were rushed to the scene as soon as firefighters were informed about the incident, the official said, adding that the fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes.
The origin of the fire is being determined. From a distance, black smoke could be seen rising into the sky.
