Five children dies by drowning in Gujarat’s Krishna Sagar Lake


Gujarat: Two children were swimming in the Krishna Sagar lake in Gujarat’s Botad district on Saturday, and to save them from drowning, three others stepped into the lake, but they also drowned.

The locals informed the police and a rescue operation was launched as soon as the police reached the spot, but the children could not be saved. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established. All the deceased were between 16 and 17 years old.

Botad SP Kishor Balolia was quoted by news agency ANI as saying, “Five children died of drowning in the Krishna Sagar lake near Botad town. Two children were swimming in the afternoon when they started drowning. Three others who were at the scene jumped into the water to save them, but they also drowned. Everyone’s age is 16-17. Further investigation is underway.”
