Five killed, 10 injured in tractor-truck collision in Telangana


Telangana Accident: Five people were killed and 10 others injured in a massive collision between a tractor and a truck on the national highway at Munagala in Telangana’s Suryapet district on Saturday midnight.

Police said on Sunday that around 38 people from Munagala village were returning home in the tractor cart after attending the Maha Padi pooja at the Ayyappa Swamy temple located on the left bank of the nearby Sagar Canal, the agency reports of UNI news.

The tractor trolley they were traveling in was on the wrong side and was hit by a truck on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway.

During the collision, all the people on board the tractor fell on the road. After that, the truck dragged the tractor for several meters at high speed. During which, five people died.

On receiving the information about the accident, the police and local people reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police also said that Tanniruu Pramila (35), Chintakayala Pramila (33), Uday Lokesh (8), Naragani Kotaiah (55), breathed their last on the way to the hospital while another woman Gandu Jyoti (38 ) died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. hospital

The injured who are in critical condition were shifted to Khammam and Suryapet hospitals for better treatment, the report said.

The truck, which is going to Hyderabad from Vijayawada. dragged the tractor trailer for 50 meters after hitting hard, police added.
