Devendra Rana and Surjit Singh Salathia joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Monday, a day after they resigned from the membership of the National Conference.
New Delhi: A day after resigning from the membership of the National Conference, Devendra Rana and Surjit Singh Salathia joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Monday.
Both the leaders joined the BJP in the presence of Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Dharmendra Pradhan and Jitendra Singh.
He said, “The time has come to have a political narrative in Jammu as well… Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others, it will be our endeavor to create an inclusive narrative for Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir… We ‘Dixon’ ‘ Will not allow the plan and his supporters to succeed,” Devendra Rana said after joining the BJP.
National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Sunday accepted the resignations of Surjit Singh Salathia and Devendra Singh Rana.
“Dr Farooq Abdullah has received and accepted the resignations of Salathia and Rana. No further action or comment is considered necessary,” the party tweeted.
Salathia won the Vijaypur constituency in 2014 while Rana won the Nagrota constituency in the same year. Devendra Singh is the younger brother of Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
