Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar tweeted, “Police and Army neutralized Lashkar District Commander (Gulzar Ahmed Reshi) of Kulgam and another involved in the killing of two poor laborers of Bihar on 17/10/21 at Wanpoh: IGP Kashmir”, reads the tweet.

Police claimed that based on specific information, a joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area. During the siege, the hiding militants opened fire on the security forces, following which a brief encounter ensued in which two terrorists were killed, police said.

Earlier in the day, police had said that two Resistance Front terrorists were killed in an encounter with a joint team of security forces in Drgad area of ​​South Kashmir’s Shopian. Police said three army personnel were also injured in the encounter, one of whom later succumbed to his injuries.
