‘Fundamental contradiction, but there is certainly room for compromise’: Russia, Ukraine to continue talks

Kyiv (Ukraine): Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podoliak said talks between Russia and Ukraine would continue on Wednesday.

“We will continue tomorrow. A very difficult and sticky negotiating process. There are fundamental contradictions. But there is certainly room for compromise. During the break, work in subgroups will continue,” tweeted Podoliac, adviser to the chief Huh. Office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

After the fourth round of discussions between the two sides started on Monday, talks are being held till Tuesday and it has been ‘stopped’ till Tuesday. The Russian delegation said later on Monday that talks were now taking place “daily”, state media reported.

Russian forces began military operations in Ukraine on 24 February, three days after Moscow recognized separate regions of Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk, as independent republics, followed by “demilitarization” and “denying” Ukraine. Announced for a “special military operation”.
