The state oil companies have announced the prices of gasoline and diesel for Tuesday, September 27. The oil companies have not made any changes in the prices of petrol and diesel, bringing relief to the common people for the 129th consecutive day. So, even today, oil prices are stable. On the other hand, the price of crude oil on the international market has been continuously falling in recent days. Currently, Brett crude oil is around $85 per barrel.
The government reduced the excise tax earlier on May 21. The excise tax on gasoline was reduced by 8 rubles per liter and on diesel by 6 rubles per liter. Since then, the price of petrol and diesel has decreased. After this, diesel became cheaper in the country by Rs 9.50 and Rs 7 per litre. After the Centre’s announcement, the governments of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Odisha and Kerala also cut VAT.
Currently, the price of petrol in Delhi is Rs 96.72 per liter and diesel is Rs 89.62 per litre. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, petrol costs Rs 106.31 and diesel Rs 94.27 per litre. Petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. On the other hand, petrol is priced at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per liter in Chennai.
