Harmanpreet Kaur not only excelled as a batsman but also as the captain of the team. She led Women in Blue to their first-ever series win against English women at home.

When the Indian captain was nominated for the position, Kaur had said it was great to be on the list. She added that winning it will be amazing.
“It was great to be nominated for the award and to win it is an incredible feeling. To emerge victorious from the nomination alongside Smriti and Nigar is very humbling,” she said.
“I have always been very proud to represent my country and achieving the historic ODI Series victory in England will remain a milestone in my career.
The game of cricket is blessed to have some of the best athletes on the sporting circuit and to be voted among them ICC Player of the Month is a special recognition for me as an individual and as the captain of the Indian cricket team,” she said said.

In the first game of the ODI series, Kaur had gone 74 unbeaten runs for the team to give them their first win. England had on board after 227 runs and India chased it in 44.2 overs.
The second game saw an even better version of the Indian captain as she contributed to 333 points with 143 runs unbeaten. England were bowled in 245 runs.
